BEACON
One late afternoon, there was a lovely couple sitting by the beach. Franz looks at a very distant beacon that twinkles in a not so dark orange sky. He caresses the long black hair of his beautiful fiancée, Merci as he asks her about her plans for the two of them. Merci smiled and said that she wanted to have her own family soon.
Franz seized the moment and offered Merci to marry him. Merci was surprised; she did not expect the offering would come there on a slow Sunday afternoon. The lady accepted the offer. The preparations for the wedding pushed through. The couple went to the bishop to confirm their Christianity since the records of their confirmation were lost, arranged legal documents together. With the protocol of marriage, confession went afterwards. A few days before the wedding, the Bride’s friends threw a shower party for their well-treasured flower. The guys had their own fun experiences as well. The day that has been much awaited came, and the marriage pushed through. The couple went in front of the altar to celebrate the Eucharist together as they promise each other that no one would leave the other come what may, even death won’t part any of them.

Franz throttles Merci a bit. Merci did not respond to the stimulus. He throttles again, now with a more powerful effort. Franz goes berserk and starts weeping. He did not expect that Merci would be leaving him so soon. Merci has been diagnosed with Lymph Nodes Cancer. She planned to study Biology to detect the cause of her ailment which killed her mother as well but she is not able to do it anymore.
